Brad is the inspiration behind the entire Big Top organization. In the fall of 1984, Brad started Big Top Tent Rentals. In the beginning, Brad spent much of his time juggling office duties as well as installations and dismantles. He is a hands on leader and worked in the field for many years before he turned in his sledgehammer. Today, Brad continues to play an instrumental role in the organization and he works closely with all staff members to ensure things are being executed as planned and changing things as needed. Brad makes all of his staff feel like number one and in doing so he has managed to retain a staff of highly qualified rental professionals. Brad is also an active part of the community and has served as a director and president of the Alberta Chapter of the Rental Association of Canada. Recently, Brad was the first Canadian to be named the "Outstanding Local President" by the American Rental Association.
Ryan joined our team right out of high school. His career at Big Top started in 1991 when he was a seasonal crewmember who worked summers while he attended NAIT working towards a Marketing Diploma. Since then Ryan has set up hundreds of tents and has played a key role in many memorable events. As our Operations Manager, Ryan calls customers to arrange installation times, organizes crew schedules and training and oversees all our crewmembers. Due to Ryan's perfectionist qualities he has also assumed a quality control position. As Ryan is a critical part of our organization, and it is likely that he will be at your site at the time of installation or dismantle and he can easily address any of your questions or concerns.
Gerry has also been part of the Big Top team since 1991 when he started as a member of our crew. Gerry joined our team as a summer student. He worked seasonally while he finished his degree in Recreation Administration at the University of Alberta. Since then Gerry has filled a full time sales position in our office. He is a critical part of our team and has played a major role in some of our pinnacle jobs. Gerry has worked collectively with a variety of event planners to organize events such as Corporate Challenge, the Telus Open and most recently, the 2002 Wayne Gretzky and Friends Golf Tournament. Gerry is the guy who loads your vehicle when you pick up rental equipment, gives you a fair deal when purchasing new and used equipment and will even come out to measure your site prior to installation.
Derek has been an intricate part of the Big Top team since he started in 2002. After completing his Bachelors of Science Degree, Derek took some time off and traveled extensively through South America and Australia. Derek is in charge of organizing the crews, installing countless tents, and making sure that all tasks laid out by the Operations Manager get carried out to perfection, as well as being the contact person on site when the crew is installing the tents. Derek is a diligent, helpful, and courteous employee, which makes him a huge asset to our organization. He receives countless complements from our clients for his professionalism and enthusiasm. Derek is a key member of our team and will be more then happy to address any questions or concerns you may have when he is installing your next event!
Danielle is the most recent addition to the Big Top Team, joining us in the fall of 2008. Danielle’s addition brings a positive outlook, a fresh perspective and a willingness to assist our customers with all their rental needs. Exceptional organizational skills and a cheery disposition are two of Danielle’s strongest traits and will be welcomed by our customers both new and old. Wedding planning and coordination are the aspects of our business that drew Danielle to us. She has a certificate from the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada and is looking forward to assisting our customers with up coming events, be it big or small. We are happy to have Danielle on our team and our customers will be happy once they have had a chance to work with her. Danielle is quickly becoming a valued member of our team and is looking forward to assisting you with your next event!
